Interesting...

I like this, but its a little out of the ordinary. You're changing the key so often (The arp and bells seem to mix minor keys with major ones frequently in the melody) that it sounds like its... fluctuating... a little too much. At parts it sounds fantastic, the bells and piano give a really nice atmosphere to the piece. It is quite repetitive, it sounds like it could be background music in some kind of point and click mystery game or maybe in a credit sequence.
Anyway, the song itself is very well done. It sounds professional and clean, its just the thing about the keys that I mentioned earlier thats getting to me a bit.
Great song, thiugh! :P

Oh and, my 500th music review. Yay :D

ghook responds:

Hmmmmm. I don't think it is changing key. The Sequence is C---/CMaj7---/Bb---/F---/F/A---/F9/A-
-
-/Bb---/F--- so it is in F Major starting on C.

FYI the bell sound is a Vibraphone, which is a percussion instrument. I sampled it myself, cause you can't seem to find anything decent on the net (that doesn't have spyware in it).

Jesus

Youre too good at this ;D
Percussion was great, that little beepy thing fitted very well into the mix considering.
The bass was awesome.
uh..

why thank you good sir

I was worried the beep might get a bit too repetitive; is that what you're "considering"?
Also, the bass was made in Sytrus, loosely based on the PWM Saw preset, except I remade it from scratch.

Damn

If your transitions were just a bit faster, this would be friggen perfect. The melodies are very, very awesome. Love the synths, love the percussion, the bass is good. Its just a bit slow moving if you ask me.
Its not repetitive, really, though. I like it, I like it :3

Thanks man!
well if you listen to the loop, its basic this tune downgraded and shortened, you might like it! XD
my futures will be better and all thoughts from the ng community will be put in!
thanks anyway for the support!

Simplicity...

This song is incredibly simple, but sounds rather professional at the same time... to a degree. It is, however, quite repetitive and lacks strong pads or heavier bass to fill in the gaps. It sounds a little empty if you ask me.
The percussion and synths and melodies were quite good though, I congratulate you on that.
If there was one bleedingly obvious point to work on, it would be repetition. Try to change the main melody a little more often and into something a little more complex.

Thanks, well ive almost finished my new verson of this tune and I garante, it will have fix all though issues! thanks for the support though!!! :D

Not bad, not bad :3

I love that fadey synth, it really melts into those strings. The percussion is a little generic and the song overall lacks a bit of complexity, but I like it.
I quite like it :)

Goosebox responds:

i acknowledge and thank you for your criticism and for your rating. the reason i kept the generic percussion and the simplicity of the song, was because sometimes the best sounding music is the simplest.

As I said to you a few days ago..

I think it needs a tad more bass. The beginning til the first build up flows very well, but past there you seem to have lost motivation or something and things dont fit as well. Im not saying it doesnt sound good... It sounds fantastic. One of the most proffessional sounding songs out there, its just a little light compare to your other work... which I think is one of the reasons I like it.

HNI responds:

yup, wayy out of my comfort zone here, but i did make a big effort to develop this song for a more mainstream audience. Thankyou

The first 10 seconds were all it took...

for me to decide: WIN!
I like this, a lot. Its quite simplistic and in some parts could do with slightly heavier bass, but it still sounds great. The title suits it well, as the song itself describes destruction. It gets kind of repetitive in some later parts, but I spose you cant expect much less from a song that is 7 whole minutes long :P

Hmm... I'm not sure.

This seems a very confusing genre. The song itself is very glitchy and odd, in my tastes at least. If this genre is an aquired taste, as it sounds very much like it is, then obviously not everyone is going to like it. I shall give you a 7/10, due to the fact that a wierd part of me likes the way it sounds... not in a musical way, but in a sort of... I dont know, really.

Oavatos responds:

haha it is a bit of an acquired taste. glitchy oddness is what I'm shooting for here. I have a lot of inspiration from Hardcore, Experimental music, as well as drum and bass and breakcore. it's definitely not a genre everyone will like.

thanks for the higher rating though! shows that you did listen with an open mind.

I cant say..

I understand either of the words in the title. But I really like this, especially past 03:00, where it gets kind of heroic and fast :3
The synth you used there was a little piercing in comparison to the rest of the mix, so you might want to tone that down a bit.. somehow. Your transitions between major and minor were flawless, I dont know how you managed that :O
Anyways, this is pretty sweet. Im still not fully into hardcore or gabber really because to me it sounds a little odd, but I thought this was great :D

Austerity means kind of severe, barren, harsh, and Vehement can mean excited, fired up, etc.

I didn't really notice the piercing-ness of the synth until you mentioned it just then, but I can see what you mean. The major/minor thing is pretty simple, but it's probably harder to explain than do. I spent a little while on that last pattern trying to make it sound right, though.

Thanks for reviewing!

Edit 1/12:
Oh, and if you like this, you might like to listen to Hellsystem - Set Me Up if you can find it on YouTube. It's a similar structure to this, but more pro. =P

Hmm

I quite like this, its very simple yet sounds not bad.
Parts of the song dont work as well as they could, however, like when the piano comes in at about 01:02. I think you need a lot more pads, maybe some dark powerful strings. Its also fairly weak on the percussion side, which is something to work on.
Its quite repetitive, but I found it strangely catchy, in a good way. Its a little linear for my tastes, though.
Keep improving :3
