HNNNNG

Good god, you've already posted more this year than I did in 2012. Wish I could manage that.

I love the happy, bouncy atmosphere of this - the highs are really nice, and the mix sounds pretty clean (though some of it, especially during the high-passes, is a little piercing imo.) The bass interacts fairly well with the kick, which punches through the mix decently. I feel like the percussion could have louder overall, though. (I'm nitpicky, I know.)

The chord progression is so incredibly simple (and maaaaaybe a little generic,) and yet it works well - I really like this song melodically.

I'm jelly of your production speed/quality :P

Aw yeah.

I said this about edge of time too, but this one is also my favorite from you (they both are okay :P)
Love the dramatic intro, love the epic trailer violins, love the atmosphere.

This actually legit deserves to be in a trailer. Like, a real trailer.

Short review, but I'm tired.

stunkel responds:

No worries man, I appreciate the review!

Not sure if this is Ambient; (though I'm not really in a position to call that, I'm not hugely familiar with the genre) Newgrounds does have a horribly limited selection of genres, though.

I quite enjoyed this, it has a pretty professional sound to it. It was a little slow for my tastes, and consequently it sounded a little like background music (though it's not really repetitive enough for me to label it as such.)

I like the FX and percussion a lot, and the deep, spacey feel. The name works very well. I'm also enjoying how atmospheric it sounds. In fact, the song is almost entirely atmosphere-based, being driven by the way it feels rather than melodic structure or progression.

I feel as though I should be getting bored, but after I finished listening once (and hadn't finished this review) I hit play again, so I was definitely enjoying it.

This is good, keep it up!

H2opoloseal responds:

Thanks for the thoughtful response Geoplex! It may not fit perfectly into the Ambient category, but being in strong agreement with your feelings about it being atmospherically-based, I felt it was the best selection. Technically speaking it would probably be ambient breakbeat.

I'm glad you liked it so much! I worked very hard on it, and it is a very complex track. There are barely-perceivable elements elements that come in all over it, and that may have helped keep your subconscious interested, despite your brain thinking that it had "gotten the gist of it," and was coming close to feeling bored.

It was meant to be extremely relaxing, soundtrackey, yet engaging; so it would seem that despite some initial preconceptions, it accomplished its goal! Thanks you again for the great feedback. I quantify my work as "The Soundtrack to My Imagination," so I'm glad you enjoyed listening. :)

Those slides are incredible.

I actually really love the atmosphere of this one, the wubs, the power, and THOSE SLIDES. Seriously, the leads are amazing. Liking those rain sound effects too.
I'm also a fan of the intro and subsequent build-up, and obviously of the drop, too. It's probably the loudest drop I've heard in a while :P

I think the chorus went on a little long and parts of it became a little repetitive, but it didn't negatively affect the song that much.

Overall a great track. Probably one of my favorites (if not my favorite) from you.

(Btw, sorry about not giving an opinion on this when you sent it. I think the download took so long that I forgot about it x.x)

ChasingPresence responds:

Haha no problem man! Glad you liked it :D and thank you very much for the review!

As I said, this is your best yet :P

I know I've already said a fair bit about this one, so I'll probably repeat myself here. I just can't bring myself to write a short review, so yeah.

I still like how dramatic the intro sounds, and while it feels as though it's leading to something more powerful than that which arrives, it doesn't lessen the song in any way at all simply because of how seamlessly you changed the mood. You went from dramatic/perilous to hopeful very smoothly in a matter of seconds :P

The percussion sounds quite good in this one, I really like the bongo-thing (I forget what you called it.)

Anyway, yeah :P This one is great.

Btw, I still love that little horn/string melody. Favorite part.

stunkel responds:

Haha thanks for the lengthy review! And you really didn't have to leave a review, I already got plenty of feedback from you during the hours of mastering and naming the song. But thanks for helping, supporting, and reviewing!

Great :P

This is definitely my favorite track of yours, perhaps because I enjoy orchestral elements more than EDM; but probably also because of the melodic structure.
This is probably the most melodic song I've heard in a while, and that means a fair bit :P

I wish you'd used the cello a little more, it sounded great in the intro. I like the flute a lot too, and the piano is really nice. I feel that the choruses sound good, but not very strong - i don't necessarily see this as a bad thing, though. Strong choruses with classical elements would sound a bit weird.

I like very much how this one feels fast, and yet mellow. That always seems to happen when people blend orchestral elements with electronic ones in a way like this.

I like it :P

ChasingPresence responds:

I like you :) And thank you for the insightful review!

LISTENING TO THIS ON REPEAT.

I don't typically review songs like this, because it feels that my words are wasted on an artist that probably won't read them. However, I feel the need to express the fact that this song has compelled me to click on it no less than twenty times since yesterday.

I'm not even a huge fan of house, honestly. I don't dislike it, but it never struck me as terribly appealing. This song has dramatically altered my perspective of the genre and I love it for that.

I'm putting this at the top of my favorites and not taking it down until it's replaced with the finished version of this! :P

10/10

Or4nges responds:

I can't vouch for other artists out there, but I can say without a doubt that I personally read every comment on every one of my songs. And this kind of goes out to everyone. I may not always reply, but know that I appreciate everything everyone says, The kind words are what keep me going :)

And i'm so glad I could change your perspective on a genre of music that I love. Everyone's got their own taste, and this is by no means a general run-of-the-mill house song, but if it can open your eyes a bit more, than my job is done.

Sadly I can't finish the song. My hard drive crashed a couple months ago and with it went all my project files. I can't even begin to think of where to start on recreating the synths in this song. It took forever and a half. I am however grateful that I posted a somewhat passable WIP. Maybe one day i'll try and recreate it, but it might not be for a while.

Thanks again dude! Sorry for the wall of text, i felt this was kind of a message everyone else needed to hear too.

Very nice.

I clicked on this song unintentionally, but as I was moving my mouse to click "back," it started playing and compelled me to give it a listen. I'm fairly glad that I did.

The arp that introduces the song is a little generic, but it sounds good - and the hats that follow it are great. They kept me listening.

My greatest praise for this song involves the percussion, though. It sounds clean and powerful - without being overpowering. Love that snare a lot.
The lead is a little quiet, now that i listen again - but it makes the whole piece sound a little more atmospheric. Dreamy maybe?

Overall, I like this a lot - but it needs more length. I know this is a loop, but you could have made a very nice full song out of this (and considering this is on the popular list, it clearly has the potential to be something even better.)

I enjoyed it.

I've listened to your stuff before, but I always forget to review - though I remember being quite impressed.

I actually do like this a lot. I like how relaxed this sounds, and I especially like a lot of the melodies you're using (melody definitely seems to be one your strengths from what I can tell.)

The percussion sounds quite good also - it's not overpowering and both the snare and kick are appropriately audible. Progression-wise the song doesn't cover a huge distance, but I didn't find myself minding that.

I like it, nicely done :P

K-Pone responds:

Yep, indeed, melodies are one of my strengths. I'm happy you like it.
